Somehow, PS4 games can be emulated on the Steam Deck pretty decently. Here's a guide to harnessing this arcane black magik for personal gain (& actually putting the games in your library).
Pre-requisites:
Filezilla (do not forget the password you set) or Limewire to transfer files (or just download them straight onto the deck from whatever web browser you use)
Ideally a keyboard & mouse connection to the steam deck
Nested desktop (not needed but very useful)
decky loader with the SteamGridDB Plugin
Guide:
Step 0: Open the Steam Deck desktop mode
Step 1: Acquire 2 Versions of ShadPS4 (The game installer and the launcher, you can't install PKG files past a certain version of ShadPS4 but you can launch them from a newer version if you've installed them using and older version)
Step 2: Download this and copy all the files to sys_module (you don't actually need all of them but I cba top sort through them all)
Step 3: Acquire games (My directory, otherwise Dlpsgame.com or Superpsx.com should work or The Internet Archive's FPKG project)
Step 4: Install games (in the ShadPS4 game installer version)
Step 4.5 (optional): Go to the ShadPS4 settings and put in 21F41A6BAD8A1D3ECA7AD586C101B7A9 as the trophy key to unlock trophies
Step 5: Launch the ShadPS4 game launcher version & create a desktop shortcut (right click on the game)
Step 6: Add ShadPS4 to Steam as a non-steam game
Step 7: Right click on ShadPS4 in steam - Properties -> Shortcut > Paste the arguments from the desktop shortcut (Right click on Shortcut > Application > Arguments) into 'Launch Options' text box
Step 8: Use SteamGridDB to add images to the game and rename it to the name of the game
Step 9 - Profit
Step 10: Repeat steps 0-9 (for 0 you can use Nested Desktop as a much faster and more efficient way of accessing desktop mode) for any game you want to emulate
